[TRACK REVIEW] BON IVER – 8 (CIRCLE)

From his debut album 22, A Million Bon Iver has shown a different side to himself and his music. 8 (circle) ditches the high pitched vocals heard on Skinny Love and embodies more of what you’d expect to see if you left Chris Martin in the studio with only a tab of acid. With layers of samples, this is one of the best examples of harmonic madness on Vernon’s new album. Whilst there seems to be so many sounds going on within 8 (circle), the track still seems to remain crisp clean amongst the saxophones, a slow bass and dreamy vocals. This track marks a strong return for the singer songwriter, and very much embodies a light at the end of the tunnel.
