[TRACK REVIEW] THE 1975 – THE SOUND

The 1975 have treated fans to another early preview of their upcoming mouthful of an album I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. This preview comes in the form of new single The Sound, a song that they shared with fans on their recent November tour of the UK. This single follows previous album offerings Love Me and the instantly infectious UGH!.

The Sound continues to display the band’s shift from their indie-rock sound from their self titled debut to this indie-pop type of sound, and it’s pure bliss. In quite the difference to the live version, the track is accompanied with a choir throughout chanting the easy to learn hook “Well I know when you’re around cause I know the sound / I know the sound of your heart” as well as house-y piano with really kicks this song into groovy pop perfection.

Here’s to hoping that the sound of this album is as impressive as what we’ve heard so far, because this has the potential to be huge.
