[NEWS] ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL WINS BIG AT UK FESTIVAL AWARDS

Isle of Wight Festival scooped the most awards at last night’s UK Festival Awards. The annual event held in London saw the Southern festival win Headline Performance of the Year for their worldwide exclusive booking of Fleetwood Mac and Best Family Festival.

The event organiser John Giddings took to social media to thank those who contributed to the festival’s win: “Thank you to everyone who contributed to Isle of Wight Festival 2015 and helped us win those awards.”

Another big winner was Bestival (also held on the Isle of Wight) which lived up to its name earning this year’s accolade for Best Major Festival. Best Medium Sized Festival and Best Small Festival were awarded to Y Not? Festival and Festival No.6 respectively.

The award ceremony, which is voted for by the general festival-attending public, also gave out prizes to Latitude Festival for Best Line-Up, Wild Life Festival for Best New Festival and Kendall Calling for Best Toilets.

Best New Festival – Wild Life Festival

Best Festival for Emerging Talent – Liverpool International Music Festival

The Grass Roots Festival Award – Beautiful Days

Best Overseas Festival – Annie Mac Presents: Lost And Found

Best Metropolitan Festival – Liverpool Sound City

Best Dance Event – Creamfields

Best Family Festival – Isle of Wight Festival

Best Non-Music Festival – Eroica Britannia

Best Small Festival – Festival No. 6

Best Medium-Sized Festival – Y Not? Festival

Best Major Festival – Bestival
