The queen of the British music industry has just shown critics why she is a force to be reckoned with (again).
After taking a three year hiatus following the mind blowing success of her previous album, ’21’, Adele has released her third studio album ’25’ which hit platinum in a staggering 24 hours. It registers as one of the biggest first opening day album sales totals in UK history – slightly behind the first 24 hours of Oasis’s Be Here Now in 1997 which sold 424,000 copies.
The album is yet to become available to stream on Spotify, however nothing has been confirmed whether it ever will be.
The singer said to CNN “My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up one,” she said. “I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up with everything I ever did and never did.”
’25’ is now available on iTunes.
