Countries across Europe today observed a minute’s silence in memory of what was described as ‘the most violent attack on France since WWII’, with a large crowd gathering by the Bataclan Concert Hall which was one of the locations of the massacre.
Californian band Eagles Of Death Metal were playing a headline show on the night of the attack. Whilst playing crowd pleaser ‘Kiss The Devil’, multiple ISIS gunmen opened fire leaving 89 dead, the merchandise manager Nick Alexander was the first Briton to be confirmed dead in the attacks
The gunmen took 100 people hostage for a few hours before shooting.
The bands who were playing at the venue, including Deftones who were watching the show that night escaped unharmed. A band members wife confirmed that both bands are safe.
UCA sends their thoughts to those who have been affected by recent events.
