The Stone Roses have announced live dates for next year.
The legendary Manchester band will play two hometown shows at the Ethiad Stadium next June, as well as headlining the Friday night at next year’s T In The Park.
The Manchester stadium will be host to 60,000 adoring fans each night, with the event highly likely to sell out in record time – similarly to the four-piece’s Heaton Park reunion gigs in 2012.
The news comes as images of lemons (synonymous with the quartet) started to appear around Manchester over the weekend, hinting that an announcement from the band was imminent.
Since learning of the news this evening, fans have taken to Twitter to express their reactions, including This Is England 90 star Thomas Turgoose. The actor tweeted: “The Stone Roses in June in Manchester, I’ll have a bit of that.”
With new touring plans announced at the beginning of festival season, many have speculated whether the band could also be headlining Glastonbury.
News of more festival dates still remains to be seen, but tickets for the Manchester events go on sale at 9:30am on Friday 6th November.
