[NEWS] RAMMSTEIN ARE LAST HEADLINER TO BE ANNOUNCED FOR DOWNLOAD 2016
As of this week, all three of Download Festival’s headliners have been announced. Monday’s announcement brought Iron Maiden, headlining on Sunday 11th June. On Tuesday, Saturday 10th June’s headliners were announced as being Black Sabbath.
It has now been revealed that German metal band Rammstein are headlining the festival on Friday 9th June.
Rammstein were revealed as the last of Download’s headliners in this week’s issue of Kerrang! Magazine, along with metal veterans, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. This will be their first performance since Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival in 2013. It is also their first UK performance since Download Festival 2013.
The metal band are currently in the studio recording their seventh studio album, and recently have announced the release of the XXI LP box set, which is due for release on December 4th, 2015 and spans Rammstein’s career, to mark the band’s 21st anniversary.
