Announced earlier this year that Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett would reunite, it’s finally been revealed that in 2016, Gorillaz will be releasing new material since their success back in 2010 with Plastic Beach.
Speaking to DIY Magazine, Hewlett said:
“I’m working on it at the moment, and it’s going very well. I’m very excited.”
He also spoke about cutting himself off from other artists and their work in order for him to work at his best. Hewlett will be having an exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in central London from November 18th through to December 2nd featuring some of his work inspiring Gorillaz.
You can check out more of Jamie’s artwork on his Instagram (@hewll) and for further details about his exhibition, visit his website (jamiehewlett.com)
Dates for the band’s new music is TBA.
